Freeski Week 10: Team Challenge 2/15 | Sunday River 2* 2/15 | Orford 2* 2/16

13 Feb by Ashley Maxfield

Hello Freeskiers!

First let me say congrats to all those that competed last weekend. Everyone skied great, both at MRG and at Smuggs. Even if everything didn’t go to plan, you all had great parts to your runs, so proud of you all!

Each year, we fundraise for the SNSC Team Challenge which will happen on Saturday, February 15. The Fundraising links are live now (see below)! Teams will be created of mixed aged athletes led by older athletes through challenges created by the coaching staff on the T-bar. This will be during the afternoon on February 15th, followed by a celebration party at the SNSC clubhouse when we will announce the team that raised the most money for SNSC.
Our goal is to raise $15,000 or $100 per athlete (five $20 donations) which will help us reach our goal. This goes a huge way towards keeping our costs down for all our members.
Below is a set of links to individual Team Fundraising Pages. Please share the link of your athlete’s Team so that your Team receives the credit for the pledge. Prizes may be awarded for Teams effort in fundraising. The Blue button at the top of the page will bring you to the front page for the fundraiser.

We will have normal training in the morning on Saturday and then we will participate in the team Challenge on the T-bar. It’ll be different this year than years past, so be ready for something just a little different and unique.

SNSC will be sending coaches to Whiteface, Gore and Jay. Even if you have your 4 comps completed it would be nice to see our athletes go and support the New events in New York as friendly events. For years they have come to our events, filling up our Friendly and it would be a great opportunity to check our new mountains and support their comps and help grow our sport on the east. If you have never skied in New York this is a great chance to check them out. Lake Placid is an amazing area with a rich Olympic history.

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out! See you on the hill and good luck to the athletes that are competing this weekend.
