Wow! Where did this season go? This is the last weekend for the comp and U12 teams! Super proud of all the growth I saw out on the hill this season. You all stepped up and met personal goals, learned a lot about yourselves, your journey and your potential throughout the season. We will celebrate in style this weekend! Saturday will be our last official day of training (for Comp and U12) so let’s bring out some costumes, it will be snowing so dress for the weather. I’ll grab my tote of costumes and bring them up to the club for those that might need something.
On Sunday it’s all about the Friendly and Masters comp! We have a lot of younger athletes that have signed up so if we could get the older athletes to help the youngers inspect and cheer for them as they ski. We encourage the older kids to also sign up if they would like, it would be great for the younger kids to see our older athletes ski the same venue as them. We will be offering a “Friendly” option at the Friendly. Kinda like how the friendly worked this comp season, where the start didn’t count towards season ranking, instead our “Friendly” option will let you opt out of the running for the podium. This is a great way to still ski the venue the same as you would for a comp to give a show for the younger athletes watching but not take away from the true spirit of the Friendly, where it’s designed for those newer into Freeride. Let me know if you/your athlete would like to be marked as a Friendly athlete.
On top of the podium will be giving out awards for best costume, best sportsmanship, oldest, youngest as well as others! Make sure to dress to impress!
