Dec 27-28 | Comp & U12 Week 3 | MTN Week 2 | Winter Break Training

26 Dec 2025 by Ashley Maxfield

Happy Holidays!
Hope everyone had a great holiday this past week and are getting to enjoy some time with family and on the hill during this winter break!

We will have normal training this weekend, 9:30-2pm both days. Make sure you're dressed, ready to go and outside by 9:30. We meet in between the Rail Barn/ Maintenance building and the Club. Please let me and your coaches know if you/your athlete will be missing or late for training. We had coaches waiting last week for 15 minutes for athletes that did not show. On those cold mornings that takes a lot of the athletes before we even start.

They are calling for some light snow overnight tonight, but the sun will be popping out over the weekend. Looks like it's shaping up to be a good weekend for training. Make sure we dress warm for the chilly mornings. Remember that there are holiday crowds out there, plenty of people everywhere. Let's make sure we are giving space to the public when we ski and are ready to wait in lift lines. Make sure we have spotters at trail intersections and any jumps/airs with blind spots. We will do our best to maximize our training time with the crowds around us.

Cleaning up after ourselves:
The Club is shared space, when you get done getting ready or eating please pick up after yourselves. Last weekend there was a lot of food left on the basement tables. We need to do a better job of making sure the spaces are left clean after we use them. If you spill popcorn on the floor grab a broom and dust pan and quickly sweep up before you go back out on the hill. If we all clean up after ourselves then there is a clean spot for the next group to use.

Winter Break Training:
We will offer training Monday 12/29 -Wednesday 12/31 and Friday 1/2. We will be training 12-3pm each day. We will not be training on New Year's Day. Here is the spreadsheet to let us know which days you will be training with us:

Hopefully we will miss the wet stuff on Monday morning and it's all white by the time we start.
Next weekend 1/4-1/5: we will have normal training at the normal times.

Comp Registrations:
If you haven't already done so yet please fill out this spreadsheet letting your coaches know which comps you/your athletes will be attending.

GOALS:
SNSC Athlete Development Form
We have had a few athletes so far fill out the goals form that I sent out last week. This form will help the coaches figure out your goals and how we can help each athlete achieve those goals. I would like these done before next weekend. The sooner we get these done the quicker we can implement these into training.

Gear Swap:
SNSC Gear Swap- Have gear you want to sell/pass down? Or looking for some gear that maybe Santa forgot to bring? Click on the link and either list what you have for sale or contact those that have things you are looking for.

Let me know if you have any questions or if you/your athlete will be missing any training days.
See you all on the hill!
-Coach Ashley
